re warning light-Ford Laser 1990 Ghia?

the symbol looks like a high beam symbol but there are no lights on,& when the hand brake was released that light stayed on for a while also although faintly. My daughter is currently driving the car & tonight she said it cut out and both lights came back on. Brake fluid is fine. Thanks for any help.

I think you are referring to one of the lamps that comes on when you turn the ignition on, but don't start the car? One lamp is the alternator charging light, (red) one is the oil pressure (yellow) and the other one(s) refer to the brake system. I think you have an alternator charging problem as this lamp can be off, on, or glowing, in fact. A visit to a local motor factors who sells batteries could check this out in a couple of minutes.
