my hoover 390ffk fridge /freezer fridge section totally frozen up?

my hoover hca 390 ffk f/f fridge is freezing up all the time and is constanly on all the time, if it could be the thermostat where is it? im told it should be behind the thermo dial cant find it please help freezer is running fine

Usually they are indeed at the top, near the dial area. However, look at the back of the unit where the coils are and maybe you can see a probe with wires disappearing into the fridge unit? Certainly the thermostat is the problem.
