ZANUSSI DISHWASHER CONFUSION?

Bare with me I'm not very techically minded. It is a Zanussi 6141A model and it sounds like the motor is fine and that the cycle will begin as normal, for instance, it even drops the tablet as programmed. However, it then freezes, the motor continues to run but there is apparently no water. It then seems to time out and stop completely. I've had a quick look and cannot identify a blockage. I've also tried to fill it manually with water, but this just drains away. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Non-technical speak would admittedly be of benefit!
