how can i fix a squealing noise from the d/side front wheel on my firesta?

i have a loud squealing noise from my d/side front wheel on my fiesta, it happens when i press my brake, but also happens when i'm not touching the brakes, and seems to be worse when i am turning the steering wheel to the right, do you know what this could be??
my vehicle is a '99 T reg Ford Fiesta 1.25 zetec

Laura ...have someone check the disc pad wear for you. If OK then it sounds like there is a build up of carbon on the brake caliper which is causing the squeal. If the brakes are not pulling the car to one side then I wouldn't worry about the squealing. You'll find when the pads are replaced and the calipers are cleaned and greased using copperslip, the squeal will stop.
