had the same problem with our ldv 400 motorhome when we started it up it loked as though it was like being next to jack the ripper in the london smog had it in to garage and found out that the fuel pump was cracked inside between the high pressure and low pressure chamber and had to have it to lucas for refurbing. runs brill now and jack the ripper has gone. hope this helps.
