What are the names of the dryers that has been mentioned here. Mine is a whirlpool and I'm having the same problem. Not sure what to do with it. Any help would be appreciated.

Ours went wrong last night and we have a new baby in the house so were desperate. Again no heat, and the tumble dryer is 14 months old!!!

Engineer called and replaced thermostat kit and charged us £78.50 I think we have been robbed but it is working again - The parts online are only about 12.00 quid

I have just replaced the heating element on my Proline TDC6A dryer, it cost me £ 30 inc postage, bought from GDA tel: 08709 077 077.
Unfortunately it did not fix the job, i am now going to try a multimeter or OHM meter to check fuses etc...

Did anyone find an element for this - I need one!

Peter, January 2005
I am not sure if this will work on your dryer but most dryers have a cut out switch for the heating element. This was what was wrong with mine, I called an engineer out and he opened up the back of the dryer, located the switch and pressed it, voila heat working again.

hope this helps, Graham
