ford escort van k reg 1.8 diesel?

when im driving or parked up , , i put my foot on the diesel, my engine makes a louder noise half way down then as i put my foot a little more it goes what is my problem is it i need a new cam , or tappets , or is it my bottom end , or is it knackered? please help , its been like this for a long time , been driving for months and it the same!!

may be timing belt slapping on belt cover [poss needs adjusting]if it was on cam or crank you would expect noise to be on all the time. can you get noise on when stationary-when not pressing any pedals?

no its not anything to do with clutch,or thrush baring , its coming from the engine its self, half way down with the revs it makes a noise , then put my foot down more it goes , defenetly engine , but is it cam or tappets or lifters , or bottom end , ?/ or is it just dying on me cous its a old k reg van , ??? someone h e l p ??

if noise is on when stationary depress clutch, if noise goes it will poss be clutch plate springs rattling!
