Assuming your machine DRAINS before it try's to spin i reckon the brushes in your motor are approaching the END of service life.Invest in a couple of SETS beats a service call out charge you can find HOW to CHANGE brushes on the net easy 20 minute job first time. even quicker the next time(Tip) USE THE WHITE ONES NOT BLUE/BLACK as these softer don't last 12 months.
if it don't DRAIN sump filter nearly blocked or pump/blockage/seized (strip and clean, test, then reasseble)
