how can i fix my speedo?

i recently bought a k reg peugeot 106, i realised tht the speedo doesnt work, any ide on what it could be?

could well have snapped or become unconnected from the gear box or the dash end i would think it would be the first. so remove dash purchase new one remove gearbox end pull new cable in re connect job done or take it to garage
