I've just come back from holiday and have loads of washing to do. I put on a whites wash and a couple of t-shirts had brown smears on them when I took them out of the washing machine. I cleaned the marks off and put the machine on rinse and spin. Big mistake! They have now got dark streaks all over and there was what appeared to be spots of oil on the door rubber.

The machine is only just over 4 years old, is it repairable please (both physically and economically)?

All, this is a build up of soap cum and fluff in the door seal around the cicumference of the seal. Carefully open the crevis nearest the drum and you will find this depopsit. It is quite thick thorough cleaning of the door seal should solve your problem. A small stiff brush would assist with this operation. As Harney says a boil Cycle long wash would greatly help too. Good news. I was advised to try a boil wash as I had been doing a lot of low temperature washes with liquid before I went away.

There was a build up of brown slime in the filter and outlet pipe that I cleared.

It is now working OK.
