Blown Head Gasket 97 Cavalier 2.2?

When I fill the radiator up, water fills the cylinders. No water in the oil pan. Is this just the blown head gasket, or could there be more damage thats not visible. Do I need to pull the motor to change the head gasket?

Any advise would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve G.

Yep the cylinder head gasket has blown. However when the head is off the car, the mating faces need to be very carefully looked at because there is a chance that any steam escape has worn a tiny channel in the head face itself - and a new gasket won't cure that. If in doubt, have the head skimmed at a machine shop.
