when driving my cavalier(1.6 K reg 1993) at night the lights dimmed,wipers slowed and then engine stopped,the charging light was not illuminated.I got towed home and fitted a new battery then fitted another alternator which is a delco remy.Now the charging light and handbrake lights are illuminated and the alternator doesn't appear to be charging.Any ideas what the problem is or have i fitted a faulty alternator?

our cav~ had the same problems ..
take off your alt~again and then take it in to have it tested..
bet it comes out weak or bad..
basicaly if you put a load on it and things dim and slow down your alt is bad.
