How to fix Hotpoint Dishwasher DWF50?

Machine seems to have not completed its last wash cycle as not all water had drained away. When trying to start a new wash cycle (any) the prewash light illuminates as expected but there isn't the customary sound of the machine drawing in water. There is a faint electrical hum as though something is trying to happen, but after a minute or so the Eco and Fastwash lights blink together, indicating a fault. I've cleaned the filters. Any ideas?

Thanks for this, it just worked for me too! :-)

Thanks for the advice, it certainly seems to have done the job! Quite a lot of debris floated into the sump and has been fished out. Now that it's working again, I'm running the machine empty and without filters to try to flush the pump through. Thanks again.

sounds like pump blocked... the two flashing lights are the fault indicator.
u could try......
drain all the water out of the sump(remove the filter arrangement) dry it out and look for a grill at about 2 oclock in the bottom of the sump... get a strong plastic cable tie and insert this into the grill and push it in and out a few times..(the pump impellor is behind the grill).if your're lucky you will dislodge whatever was blocking it and it will start up!mi
