the battery light was staying on when my old alternator was on my vehicle which at the time i was told was faulty but since putting the new one on i had the old alternator tested and was told there,s nothing wrong with it.when i try to start the car u just hear a clicking noise so ive had the starter tested and thats working fine.

Karen, if the battery charging light is staying on then either there has been a wire left off the alternator or the replacement alternator is faulty - not unknown! A technical check is to put a voltmeter across the battery once the engine is running - you should see around 14.2v if the alternator is doing its stuff.
