gilera dna 50 , dead?

can anyone come up with some suggestions ,

stupidly I was working on the bike and forgot the charger was on it , I started it up , there was a backfire and a hiss and it didnt start again ,

since then ive changed the crank bearings because of the rattle the piston and cylinder head gaskets , put it all back together again

and it still wont start ?

ive got spark and compression

any ideas , please help

I think you may of hit the nail on the head there

I do remember a semi circle of magnet loose in the flywheel section

well done , I cant believe I didnt put it back in , just hope its still in my box ,

Not sure where you are up to with this bike, Jason. However, have you still got a spark? Does the engine still turn over on the electric start? Any sign of damage to the coil? The fuel tap on these things, by the way, is often operated by engine vacuum so you'll need to check that. I'm a bit intrigued by the backfire...leaving the charger on shouldn't interfere with much. Maybe its an idea to pop the flywheel off again to see if the woodruff key is still there - if its got lost, the ignition timing will be all to hell. Sorry can't be more specific at this stage!
