i have a zanussi fdjr1666w washing machine.it said error code e40 so looked on net and was told it was code for door lock so brought a new lock and it was fitted and still it says code e40 when turned on.some one said that you need a new code when you put something new in from zanussi but also that they dont give it out?or could control panel be broke?thanks sam

the triac on your main pcb that drives the door lock has blown.you will now need to replace the pcb aswell.this seems to be a common problem where doorlock blows pcb after failing
