I think i broke my vauxhall astra key/fob !!?

i have a Vauxhall Astra Coupe (2000, 1.8 16V). When trying to replace the battery in my fob i took out one of the little components (tiny little box).

i havent tried to start the car yet ... i assume the little box has a reason for being there ????

its not the little black part ... its like a little yellow cube (very tiny). it was glued onto the board and i snapped it !!

the little black part is the imobliser transponder that must be in the key, without it the car will not start.
