Gainsborough Royale shower too cold?

My gainsborough Royale thermostatic shower is too cold.
I have no instructions to enable me to adjust the maximum temperature
Derek Fletcher, January 2008
i think the thermostat has gone on mine as its running rather tepid and not getting very hot. the water from the taps is fine, so i reckon its the thermo. any ideas where i can go to get parts? need a shower rose too.

thanks for any advice.

Apparently you can turn the shower to max, take off the cap, unscrew the copper screw behind (at which point a small amount of water will trickle out), then with a long thin screwdriver you can change the thermostat to the required position whilst the shower is on max. I say 'apparently' because I have read this in the manual, but have yet to find a screwdriver thin enough and long enough for the job!

In addition, I have the problem of the handle on the Gainsborough Royale slipping and not staying in position. Up to around 3/4 turn its fine, after 3/4 (i.e. for hotter temperatures) any position you put the handle in it just slips back to 3/4 turn - very annoying! The only exception is it will stay in MAX position.

Any ideas?

I have the exact opposite problem, my shower is too hot. Pretty much the same temp as the hot water. Found a site to replace any parts, will try buying the thermostat.

I have the same problem - can you buy a service kit to replace the thermostat ? Mine is chrome ? Do you know a web site that I could order it from ? ( Merseyside )

sounds like the thermostat inside has gone.
