Renault Megane 1.6 16V 2001 - cambelt snapped, would valves be damaged?

The cambelt has snapped on my Megane - what is the likelihood that the valves on this model have been damaged?

And, if so, what is the likely cost of repair?

most likley the valve's are damaged, what you need to do is have your timing reset up,new cambelt fitted & a compression test this will give you an idea of the cost working on £10 at least per valve + a new head gasket, pressure test & possible skim and of course labour, unless your going to do it yourself sorry about the bad news
