How can I fix my bmw 3 series key? It won't open or lock my doors?

What can i do to fix my 2001 bmw key? It doesn't lock or unlock my doors anymore. Do I have to buy a new key or do I have to reprogram it to work?

Hiya cris type into google, How to reprogram BMW keys, that site might be able to help you. If you are unable to program your key it might mean the battery is dead . It is possible to change battery but it is risky . The cost for a new key is approximately £100 from BMW. If you need more info go on bmw forums. Hope you sort it.
