Poulan 2000- no idle?

I found a Poulan 2000 saw in the dump that had a bad fuel line which I replaced. I cleaned the saw up good and set carb to factory specs and it started up after several pulls.
The problem is that the saw will not idle unless the idle screw is turned up which causes the chain to run constantly.
What is the fix for this? (carb overhaul, sucking air)

Thanks,
Tim

Carb overhaul. Its a Walbro diaphragm carb and the diaphragms have a short life. I think they just degrade. My saw is a 1983 and I've had at least 5 diaphragms in it. Also the fuel line is really important, make sure it's a good fit on the unions because the carb actually sucks the fuel in and if it can draw air into the fuel line you'll get loads af really annoying problems.
I have used my saw very heavily over the years and have no other problems. The carb and fuel line are the only issues. This saw is actually a Sach Dolmar 100, Austrian. The carb is American, draw your own conclusions.
