The Heater on my 2000 ford fiesta is only blowing cold air is the an easy/cheap way to fix it?

Its your heater control valve. I did mine recently. Got a second hand one from a breakers for £10 and took about 5 mins to change.

Does your car heat up. your hot cold gauge always on cold, if so it could be your thermostat.

Hi Mark, if it is your heater valve an it probably is there are plenty for sale on ebay its the same valve on most late model fords

Hi. Your problem may be caused by a faulty heater control valve. The valve defaults to cold if faulty. The valve is controled by the hot/cold lever inside the car and sounds like the culprit. The only fix is to replace it. I guess you could by-pass it with a length of pipe in place of the valve, but its not something I have ever done, so cannot give any details on its success. I think it is a dealer only part, so it means a trip to your local Ford outlet. Dont forget to make up your antifreeze strength when completing the job!
