If it runs up until the spin cycle, it is either the clutch (probably the plastic pawl inside; available as part of clutch repair kit for about $27 online) or the transmission. I just fixed mine today, wound up being both. There is a large nylon gear inside the transmission I had to replace; fortunately a guy gave me one he was going to throw away and I used the gear from it. If you need to buy a trans, they are about $140 plus installation. At that point a new washer may make more sense.
