Our Indesit WD11 washing machine makes a whirring noise and will not start up and the dial keeps ticking around and will not stop. Its very frustrating. We have turned the power off and waited for it to reset itself, but this doesnt work. Weve looked in the operating manuals and nothing seems to work... Plz help!! :) The washing machine is fairly new, about 18 months old.
Also approximately how much would it cost to buy a new doorhandle for the washing machine as the handle has been broken off....? Thank you for your help! :)

I had the same problem. Knob was turning, light was flashing. It was starting washing and after few minutes stopping.
I have done it, water drain was blocked.

You can check the pump for a object blocking it. The cover is under the plinth plate on the front of the machine. The details are in the manual.

If there is no objects in the pump, you have to call service to come and repair it. When the dial is spinning, the main power light will flash a certain number of times. Tell the service people how many times it's flashing they will know what/if parts are required.

Hi, mine was doing the same thing. I took out the control card and found a blow mark which indicated a short. I resoldered the joint and the machine runs fine. most electricians should be able to do this for you. good luck.

We have got one as well, door handle broke off after a couple years. The importer says they sell out of handles almost as fast as they bring em in. They cost around $30.

Overall the machine seems to be contstructed a bit on the cheap side, but I believe it was a cheap machine in the first place.

If you keep the machine stable (keep it from shaking during spin cycle) it will lessen the subsuent shaking on the dials.

exactly the same problem here as well. ive had it apart and checked for blockages but nothing.

the only thing i can think is its the programer and thats not cheap!!!!

mines about 18 months old so maybe they do this on purpose??

But seems some of my flatmates were not using Persil? Maybe that was the reason cause the machine went bust? Thats the only reason I could come up with.

Are you guys been using Persil brand washing powder?
