how can i fix central locking, ford mondeo 2.0 ghia n reg?

i have had this car for 2 years, the central locking has never worked.
the remote flashes but nothing happens, even when key is used i have to lock each door manually.
there is no noises or motors trying to work throughout the car.

If your locking does not work, even manually, then check that you have the control unit. Mine is an R reg and it is just above the throttle pedal, it has 2 plugs: a yellow and a blue. Make sure they are both fitted.

hi william try this, put the ignition key in the ignition & turn to position 2,turn this 4 time's in six second's(make sure that the battery is new)when you have turn the key four time's you will hear a audible sound (only if original stereo fitted)when this happen's remove key & press the lock button this will programe the key back into central locking (if you have changed the stereo or there's no sound after key sequence, keep turning key to position 2, but keep an eye on the red led by clock),this will stop flashing, but still illuminanted, this is when you can remove key & press the lock button, hope this help's

Hi William, you might find the answer on the following sites, the first has a section just about c/locking faults www.mirez.co.uk and then you could try www.fordmoneoownersclub.co.uk hope this helps.
