my 96 p reg fiesta starts ok but rear lights come on and faintly do sidelights it drives ok but if i put lights on it cuts out any help appreciated

check your earth wire is properly screwed on also check that all bulbs are connected correctly it seems it is short circuiting somewhere hope that helps

as for the ignition barrel yes you can which you can get from a ford garage with a key they provide but you will not be able to open doors also does your fiesta have the ford immobliser fitted?
