How do I repair rear wheel bearings on 94 ford escort estate?

Have continued problem with grinding noise and wear on rear tyres. Do I need to repair wheel bearing?

Is the wear even across the tire or just on one side?If the wear is even your brakes may be draging and causing the wear and noise.A bad wheel bearing will cause noise but I don't think that it would cause tire wear unless it was extreamly bad!!!Jack the car up and try to wiggle the tire.Put one hand on the top and bottom of the tire and check for play, then do the same thing to check it side to side.If it wiggles look to see what is moving, just the tire is a bad bearing,if the whole spindle is moving see what is bad and replace(after you will need a alignment). If nothing wiggles spin tire and listen. Is it hard to turn?If so the brakes are probably draging. To do the rear brakes you need to remove the bearings so replacement at that time would be easy.
