Renault megane 1987 automatic?

Can anyone tell me how to check the automatic fluid on this car as there is only a short 'stub' of a dipstick pushed into the fluid level rod. Thanks

Hi,with the car on a flat surface, you need the engine running in park.On the sump of the gearbox there is 2 plugs one with a triangle in it and one with a square.Undo the square plug this is the level plug,if the oil level is correct you will have a slow trickle coming out.If there is no oil coming out put the new oil in through the dipstick tube where the plastic stub is.
