I know it sounds daft but if an appliance stops abruptly its nearly always in the plug flex as that is where they tend to get broken with being pulled about.
Its not enough to take the cover off the plug and look to see if the terminals are still all connected.
What you can do firstly is cut about 4 inches off the flexat the plug end and rewire it back.
If I had received £1 for every time it was that fault i would be a millionaire.
Secondly with the machine switced on wiggle the flex at the point it enters the appliance. Do this with a pushing action as this the reverse of whats happend if its broke at that point.
Lastly if there is a switch on the appliance open it up and there should a brown wire and a blue wire and sometimes a green wire. Just fasten the blue wire to the brown wire and switch on at plug. if it works its your switch if it doesnt its your motor and thats not worth pursuing.
