driving along fine then notice radio when off and loss in power will now not even turn over please help

have a quick look at your alternator belt.Over time it can wear out and become loose. If it is loose, it wont charge properly so the next time you start up it wont work.

wont charge if ign light is not working,- it is either your alternator that is at fault, or wiring to ign light-( small wire on alternator goes to ign light ) check that small wire is not broken where it comes out of loom ,if you earth out this wire and light comes on then it is your alternator at fault. [ rarely is bulb itself at fault. ]
