How to fix my corrupted smart media card?

I take pictures with a Olympus camera. When I put my 128mb smart media card in my zio card reader or try to down load the pictures from the camera itself, the message comes up it is corrupted. I am assuming the smart media card is corrupted. How can I fix the problem?
