just fitted a new belt to my hotpoint dryer VTD00P?

just fitted a new belt to my hotpoint dryer VTD00P.
Drun goes round , but seems slow, and when i put clothes in it , its as if theres not enough power to turn the drum and it stops.
HELP ANYONE?

first check belt is not slipping but your described symptoms are the classic sign of WORN OUT motor brushes new set will cure problem.
