Clutch Pedal Problem?

my daughter has a Peugeot 206 LX (W plate) and she has a problem with the clutch pedal. Occasionally, when you press the pedal you get a sort of clicking noise, sort of like a worn cog slipping a notch or 2, and the result is the clutch does not disengage. If you press the clutch gently its ok
Any ideas?

I'm getting the same symptoms. i.e. Clutch clicking then not being able to disenage easiliy.

I took it to the garage but they could find no obvious fault.

My model is a 'W' Reg too. I'll have a look at Dave's advice to check the the Circlip on the pedal .... The idea of a 10 Pound fix also sounds good to me.

Hiya,

Mine was the same and today the clutch has funally gone.

try feeling around the pedal mounting at the top try to push it towards the brake pedal, if there is any play in there then the circlip that holds it in place has worn there is one bolt that goes through brake pedal and clutch pedal with a circlip on the clutch pedal side when this has gone the pedal moves towards the steering column thereby creating ecxessive play in the pedal as it is out of line not a difficult job to replace and quite cheap for full kit (bolt spacer and circlip) less than 10 pound
