How can I fix my printer?

My Epsom stylus photo R220 is flashing 2 red lights and says I ne to have it serviced.

It will not print or work in any way.

Absolutely correct except the ink pad goes a lot further than you think. I once took my printer apart and found the whole of the bottom of the printer was covered with sponge ready to soak up the ink that gets wasted every time the heads or cleaned

Hi Mrs Clark, you need to download a program which will fix this problem, What happens is the ink pads get too much ink in them and then the printer shuts down, if you move the catridge carrier to the left you will see the inkpads in question, just get some tissue, maybe good to use gloves here, and place the tissue on the inkpads until it absorbed most of the ink and then use the program to reset the counters.

The program can be downloaded from:

http://www.ssclg.com/epsone.shtml

you should get a desktop icon for this facility, double click on that and open the program and you should get another icon in your toolbar similar to your original printer icon, right click on this and go to reset all counters and that should do it!
