How can I stop my Ford KA over revving when changing up gears?

When pulling off from a stop my FOrd KA barely moves but makes a real revving noise. It's getting quite dangerous as I think there is a big enough gap when i pull out but by the time my car has started to pick up some speed the car behind me has to brake. Also when I change up through the gears it desn't matter how gently I press the accelorator it makes the same over revving sound but hardly picks up any speed.

I had my Ka clutch go within 5 minutes, from working ok to slipping, and therefore revving. Had to call the AA and get towed to my garage as it was undrivable and a horrible burning smell. £220 for a new clutch!! I would also recommend you get it done asap.

I have exactly the same problem, I bought the car 3 days ago and the bite is right at the top, and when I change gear I can smell the clutch burning, it is definately, as "T" and "Colin" said, time to buy a new clutch, you can get them from salvage yards a lot of the time though, so its not always that expensive, make sure you dont buy another naff one though!!

Your clutch is slipping. Have it looked at ASAP as it will only get worse.

Your car is probably in need of a new clutch.
