I have had a cortex intl straightening iron for approx a year now. being the smart lady i am i dropped it on the floor and now the light still comes on but the ceramic plates won't heat. and i think it's just passed the warrenty time. i opened it up to see if there was any obvious detachments but would't be able to tell anyways because it looks like most appliances... complicated. i figure maybe one of the little batteries or bulbs or whatever is blown. can someone help me out? would be lovely. thanks

my wifes just broke yesterday, im going home today to take it apart. hers has the chord with a "test" and "reset" button on the plug. i'm going to start there. since hers doesnt turn on at all, i will open it and look for a blown fuse. i've never touched a straightener before so im no expert, but i assume there will be either a tube style fuse or a relay of some sort in there that is blown. if that is not the case i will have to take the iron itself apart but am prepared, at that point, to end up buying a new one. no offense to ladies, as i love that you spend so much time and money making yourselves look good, but i am so happy to be a guy. as long as the shower and sink are working i have all i need to look my best.
