I am replacing the head gasket on my renault clio 1.4i 8 valve, 2000 model year and would like the tightening sequence and torque/angular settings please. The engine code is E7J.

Hi Andy, the tighning sequence is as follows
8 4 1 5 9
7 3 2 6 10 bolts 8&7 timing belt end
You must use new bolts the torque is as follows
1 20 Nm
2 97 +/- 2 deg
3 wait 3 mins?
4 slacken bolts 1 & 2 then re-torque to 20Nm + 97 +/-2 deg
5 carry out 4 for bolts 3,4,5,6, then 7,8,9,10.
