how can i fix my citroen ax headlights fault?

have 1992 k reg citroen ax, side lights work, main beam works but normal headlights have reduced output ?

Also check the wiring to see if you have a bad earth anywhere this could also cause loss of power to the lights - Brian

I don't think there are any more fuses other than the ones you have found.....its also very unlikely for both of the bulbs to have failed at the same time. So, the fault must be either the column switch, or the relay at the moment. Can you hear the relay clicking as you switch from high to dipped beam?

thanx, have checked fuses & relay in compartment situatated right of steering wheel, also bought new bulbs. am i missing some fuses somewhere else ? eg under bonnet

Does your AX have a dim-dip headlamp system, where the headlamps are on dimly when you have just the sidelights switched on? If this is the case, check the fuses for one blown. After that you really need to check the voltage at the bulb before going any further.
