recently had my clutch also done, i know this was a while ago but for anyone that is looking

my clutch was done, was juddering when i got it home, persisted with the bedding in, got a bit better, but stayed bad, havent had time to go back..... then i get a problem with the brakes, so i change them, bleed them, then all of a sudden..... judder almost gone..... bleeding the brakes makes my clutch better? then it dawned on me, they never bled the system when they fitted the clutch, so air was trapped and caused the judder, its not a guarenteed thing, but its worth looking at just incase it slipped your mind

Hi, Well i'm experiencing similar problems at the moment! I know my clutch is'nt worn as i've had the car from new and i dont 'sit' with the clutch in, or 'ride' it at junctions or on banks!, It's a P reg, 110 thousand mls, Noticed the clutch pedal was going 'down' a while ago, I think the problem is sealed clutch system? Well you cant add brake fluid? well there's only a small, sealed reservoir?, And the Haynes Manual that its a maintainance free system!, I've been quoted about £120-£140 for parts alone to do the job myself, The slave cylinder? (under the air filter box) just unscrews anticlockwise?, Just push in and turn, But i'm told be very careful! So as the above gentleman says? His clutch is new and he's got this problem, So it points to this surely?-The 406 2.1 over the past 12yr has been very reliable, But has been plagued by daft little things? Speedometer with a mind of its own? well sometimes the neeedle just goe's to nil? Then you get 'Full' power steering! Bit scary the first time it happens!, And the Keypad packed in long ago!, Oh, And mine now has a leak on the injector pump of all things! A lot of money for the repair for whats needed to fix it? A 50p gasket! The car still drive's very well, and is in good condition so it would be a shame to scrap her, Maybe a new Audi A4 2.0tdi S line in red is the answer to yours and my problem! Take care, Bob.

if you had a 12 month guarantee? take it back ,some cars are A CABLE system others hydraulic system the cable version HAS to be ADJUSTED after clutch bedded in they tell you when to bring back
500 miles 1500miles 3000 mile 6000miles (good service ones do anyway)
(cable version can stretch the other don't)
