How can I fix my Samsung Fridge/Freezer?

We have a Samsung double door fridge/freezer, which is plumbed into the mains, to provide chilled water and ice. The water is definately running and connected, but all of a sudden water will not come out of the spout on the freezer door. the lever "clicks" but no water comes out. It appears that the lever is not triggering the valve to open.

Can anyone kindly offer advice please?

Chers Maria we were just about to purchase one of those kits over the net when we read your review and gave agsrefrigeration.co.uk. a call they came out within twenty four hours and rectified the fault saving us time and expense. Thankyou ags.

We had the same problem which no one seemed able to solve however in the end we got hold of an approved engineer who works for www.agsrefrigeration.co.uk he came along and to our surprise he found what the problem was in no time it was a faulty in line connector beneath the door which he replaced this what was stopping us from getting water all this time. We were very gratefull for this because it saved us buying one of these very expensive kits or parts on line which we hadnt needed this goes to show its best to get expert help for in the long run it can sometimes cost you way more in the end if you dont

My solution was simple. After testing the fill valve and trying to thaw out the water tank, I checked the basement and found the water was shut off to the refrigerator. One of my son's friends must have done it without realizing what he was doing.

if samsung are not intrested YOU CAN PURCHASE A RS 21 REPAIR KIT FROM

had the problem and 1st tried to defrost with a hairdryer.
(the door, as i thought that's where the reservoir was)

that didn't help so unhooked the front water tube (at the bottom)
and the one on the back (connected to the little waterpump)

blew in the tube and noticed it was blocked. no water came out.
was fidlling around with it & then all of a sudden water started flowing. about a liter or so. blew in the tube again; no more blockage. hooked everything up again: perfect.
(so i guess the reservoir is under the fridge...?)

2 days later: same problem. put the temp up from -18 to -14:
doesn't help

luckily i still have guarantee so the samsung guy will be here in a few days.

Steve; you mention UPDATED parts? what would these parts be?

cos i do not want this repairman to just defrost my fridge... i want it fixed properly.

once he's been, i'll post (what hopefully will be) the answer

you can take the panel of inside the fridge and defrost with a hairdryer but this only works for a few weeks, as this is a design fault Samsung won't admit to and requires udated parts costing a fortune, you may find the water bottle will crack with it keeping freezing

Hi Graham,

I interestingly enough have spent most of the day reading problematic boards all related to the same Samsung side by side American style fridge freezer - well not so interesting but fed up trying to resolve issues upon the RS21DCNS, both my parents and myself have the same unit which we purchased two & half years ago... guess what, just after the waranty ran out we both started having similar breakdowns/ problems/ issues.

Most of the time it seems to relate back to defrosting the machine - try this first, the water pipes are likely to be frozen... turn it off for 24 hours.

Samsung will of course deny that there any any issues but if you take the time and search google for relaste details, the consumer list is overwhelming...
