Check that the needle is not sticking in the seat. then check the float level. Make sure the jets are clean. If you've never pulled a carburettor apart before, make yourself a layout board and layout the peices as you take it apart. That way you'll be able to put it back the way it was. Thoroughly clean the carburettor, then each component as you put it back. There are some auto stores that sell a carburettor cleaner which is the best way to clean the parts before you ptu them back. Don't use sewing needles or wires to unblock jets or holes though. The best way to unblock them is to soak them and then blow them out with compressed air. (make sure you wear safety goggles!)
