Check to see if it is a ground wire. Hold the wire against the motor while someone else checks for spark. I think it might be a wire for a kill switch, but I need more info. Does this motor have stop written on the throtle lever? What is the model # of the motor? If there is stop written at the throttle, look on the back of the throttle assembly. there should be a little plastic piece by where it says stop. This piece (if there is one) will have a small metal piece attached to it. If this is the case the wire gets attached to this piece. If you can check this out and e-mail me I might be able to provide further assistance.
