How to fix Hotpoint CTD00 Tumble Dryer?

About 12 months ago my tumble dryer started to blow the power after a few seconds of turning it on. After vacuming it all out, including heating elements it has been fine. However it has started to blow the power again, but now does this the instant I press the on button. I have cleaned it all out again and it did work for a while, but the problem has re-occured and I have had no luck with the previous methods. I have searched this problem and found one answer to say it is the heating element that needs to be replaced. Could someone please tell me me if this is the case, and how easy this is to replace.

I had this problem too and the hotpoint engineer said that the only way to get the condenser unit properly clean is to blast it in the shower - This seems to work really well, although I am having the problem again now.
I stripped the machine and found that the reservoir at the back of the machine was full of gunk, so I cleaned this out too and my machine worked for about 15 minutes and is tripping the power again.
I read somewhere that you have to use a pipe-cleaner or similar to unblock the pipes which lead to and from the condenser tray at the back...
I think that monthly cleaning of the condenser unit is not enough - weekly is better.
I reckon that because the lint filter is so rubbish I have probably got a build up of lint somewhere in the machine that gets wet and subsequently trips my whole fuse box!
Am going to have to completely disassemble blooming thing now and see if I can find anything else....
Any suggestions?

I had the same problem. Vacuuming out the condenser unit is just not enough. I had to use much finer cleaning utensils to get at the damp clumps of material dust that had clogged up nearly every vent. You will need to unscrew all the screws at the front of the condenser unit to clear where it is most clogged up. Not until you can see through every metal vent is this condenser clean enough to put back into the Tumble Dryer. Allow yourself at least half an hour to an hour to do this.
Good luck.
