Just bought a W reg 2000 mondeo zetec and the standard alarm keeps going off. Does anybody know why it should be doing this? Or can somebody tell me how to disconect it?
common fault on these is bonnet switch,carry out beep test to do this open and shut drivers door 4 or 5 times till alarm beeps shut door open again 1 beep shut door key in lockturn clockwise 2beeps anti clock 2 beps go to back door open 1 beep boot open 1 beep nsf door repeat clock wie and anti cloick action and finally pull bonnet 1 beep if all ok bonnet switch

the alarm horn is inside the boot, behind the panel next to the fuel tank filler neck,you can disconnect this while you sort the problem out,check all door switches & bonnet & boot switches may have faulty switch
