AEG favorit dishwasher is not heating up. At end of any cycle all dishes are wet and cold

Not an answer but a related question...
I have the same problem but don't want to unnecessarily buy a heater. I need to test the current element I guess to see if its blown? Not sure what I would be looking for there though.
