how can i remove my old rear windsreen wiper arm, so i can fix on a new one?

my car is a citroen xzara picasso sx, 2000 model. I'm having great difficuty trying to remove the rear windscreen wiper arm, it snapped off, I have removed the bolt, but can't get the arm to release, have tried wd 40, but it won't budge

you could use a small 2 leg puller.Their is a special tool available to this job that costs about £6.00

The arm will be fixed on a spline to stop it turning, and these can be very tight to remove due to corrosion. Try pouring some very hot water on the spindle to expand it a bit, and if you can lever the thing off with a screwdriver it'll help - but watch the paintwork! It will shift, and you're doing the right thing by using WD40.
