Hotpoint FDW80 blowing house electrics & flooding?

My Hotpoint dishwasher was in the middle of a wash when the main fuseboard tripped and tracing it down it was the dishwasher that caused it. After a while, with the power off, water started leaking out of the D/W. When I turned the machine on its side to see if there were any accessible parts a lot of water flowed out. The machine is about 2.5 years old. Is there an easy fix for this or does it need to be replaced?

No advice I'm afraid- just sympathy. I'm currently online trying to find out why my dishwasher has tripped the main fuse board too. It seems there may be an electrical fault as it only happens when we shut the door, as if that's completing some circuit within the frame. Scary! Also, reading through it sounds like we've had a close call. Other folk report a similar problem, including one whose house went up in flames in the middle of the night because of it! Get rid mate, I think I'm going to. And not for another Hotpoint. We've had nothing but trouble from all of our Hotpoint appliances and the service is ****.
