Hotpoint WM63 heating element?

My heating element has packed up in my washer, I have got a new one but I can't get the old one out of the drum.
Philip Carey Martin, January 2008
undo the nut between the heater element till nearly level with end of thread, remove spade connections now PUSH THE THREAD using pliers on the nut (to prevent thread damage) INWARDS until nut is up against housing this releases the internal seal now waggle the heater element outwards. should now come free.
