How can i fix my makita radio?

just got a new white makita radio from usa I put 110v plug on lead and when i pluged it in it made a funny noise and then smelt of burnt electrics can anyone help

Best look at the makers plate on the side of the set somewhere - it'll tell you what the input voltage is. At the very least you have a cooked mains transformer.
