ford, modeo, 2.0, 1999?

i have a poblem with my mondeo the temp gauge is reading above the red even when engine is cold and ignition is switched off.i have checked sender unit and even tried a new gauge but still have the same problem. how do i fix?

sounds like u might have a short in the wiring.pull the wires off the temp switch & see if the needle drops.if it does its a faulty switch,if not then its either the wiring itself or the gauge,but u tryed the gauge so thats unlikely
